The subject and the verb in a sentence have to ‘agree’.
The subject is the main person, animal, object or thing in the sentence. Some subjects are singular whilst others are plural.
The verb is the action or state of being in the sentence, just like subjects, some are singular and some are plural.
If the subject is singular ,then the verb has to be singular or if the subject is plural ,then the verb has to be plural.
The same applies to ‘has‘ and ‘have‘:
One dog has a bone. (Singular)
Two dogs have bones. (Plural)
